Vicon

The Vicon product range of optical trackers contains systems with differing technology approaches. These each offer their own benefits and environmental requirements, but all are superb for use in metal rich environments. Virtalis has successfully integrated Vicon tracking with our ActiveWall systems and we are poised to add them to our market leading ActiveCube systems.

Vicon MX

The Vicon MX system is an advanced optical motion capture system delivering precision, performance and practicality. The major components of a Vicon MX system are the cameras, the controlling hardware module, the software to analyse and present the data, and the host computer to run the software.

The MX system has been designed to be flexible, expandable and easy to integrate into your working environment.  With a combination of MX system components, you can create any size system and link it easily to the external devices you want to use.

Every Vicon MX system includes at least one MX Giganet to provide power and data communication with up to 10 cameras and other devices. The Giganet also manages the data flow to the host computer running the software used to analyse data.  System with more than ten cameras, need a second Giganet.

Vicon MX sits happily within Virtalis custom-integrated systems, acquiring and exchanging data with third-party devices, including external capture technologies like force plates, data gloves, and eye trackers as well as HD compliant time code, genlock, EMG and any other digital devices.

Vicon BonitaVicon Bonita

Bonita is a new generation optical capture camera and is Vicon’s smallest camera. It reliably streams the precise motion of people, animals and machines and easily captures the movements of slow and fast moving objects with capture speeds of 240FPS. Bonita uses Gigabit Ethernet, maximising the bandwidth of the marker data streaming in to the Vicon software.

Bonita is small enough to be mounted anywhere while still maintaining performance.  With its small size and single cable ethernet connection, a Bonita optical capture system is much less intrusive than inertial systems; there’s no need to worry about cables getting in the way or damaging active markers. Bonita’s variable focal length lens enables you to optimise your set up, big or small, in a variety of environments.

Bonita is both quick and easy to set up. It is possible to calibrate and start streaming data in less than two minutes!

The Bonita strobe contains 68 LEDs which illuminate the markers in your capture volume more effectively at a distance giving you the quality data you need. Bonita captures with positional accuracy down to 1mm in a 4m x 4m area. In smaller areas, Bonita is even more accurate - down to sub-millimetre.
