NVIS
NVIS designs and manufactures VR displays that allow users to visualise and interact with simulated 3D environments. Its products incorporate wide field-of-view optics and high-resolution microdisplays into ergonomically designed displays optimised for comfort and ease-of-use. Virtalis is the sole appointed reseller in the UK & Ireland and we have sold NVIS products as part of our integrated VR solutions to organisations across Europe and in the US.

nVisor SX60
The nVisor SX60 is an HMD for advanced VR applications and Virtalis has sold dozens of them in recent years. It incorporates high-resolution colour microdisplays with custom-engineered optics to deliver high visual acuity in a wide FOV format. The nVisor SX uses LCOS reflective display technology to achieve 1280 x 1024 resolution across a 60o diagonal FoV. The nVisor SX boasts an ergonomic design with easy access to user adjustments including inter-ocular distance, eye-relief to accommodate users with eyeglasses, and a robust head-fitting apparatus to balance and comfortably align the HMD. The nVisor SX features external mounting points for most common headtrackers including the Intersense IS-900 and the Ascension BIRD and trakSTAR. Compatible with virtually any PC or workstation, the nVisor SX accepts VESA standard SXGA video in either digital or analogue formats. The video control electronics support both stereoscopic and monoscopic viewing by detecting dual or single inputs.
nVisor SX111
The nVisor SX111 is an immersive display with a total viewing area covering 102° horizontal by 64° vertical, with 111 degrees across the diagonal. Virtalis has seen demand for this HMD rise sharply as customers seek a wider FOV system. The nVisor SX111 uses only one microdisplay per eye and can be driven from a single PC source supporting dual DVI or analogue video output. Its eye relief accommodates users with spectacles and a large exit pupil supports eye movement across the field-of-view without vignetting.
See-Through HMDs
nVisor ST50
The nVisor ST50 offers high-fidelity virtual and augmented reality developers and users a head-mounted display with unprecedented performance for a very affordable price. The nVisor ST50 was designed for the US Army’s Research and Development Engineering Command (RDECOM) to support virtual dismounted soldier training programmes. The Army required a lightweight, low-cost, see-through capable HMD that can withstand active daily training exercises for the soldiers. These same characteristics have widespread appeal in many high-performance immersive training and simulation applications. The nVisor ST50 is built around a new Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) microdisplay from EMagin. The microdisplay provides 1280x1024 pixels per eye in a low-power, compact design. The patent-pending eyepieces display the image across a 50° diagonal field-of-view with < 2% distortion, making the see-through compatible optics ideal for professional augmented reality applications that require precision alignment between real and virtual environments. The nVisor ST50 works equally well as a see-through or fully immersive display. A removable cover can be quickly applied to allow users the flexibility to develop both virtual and augmented reality applications using the same HMD. In addition, the nVisor ST50 supports standard motion tracking devices from Intersense, Ascension, Polhemus and others via a tracker platform mounted on the back of the HMD.
nVisor ST60
The nVisor ST60 is a high-resolution see-through head-mounted display designed for augmented reality applications requiring a wide field-of-view format with superior SXGA image quality. High efficiency optics incorporating reflective-transmissive polarisers increase light-throughput, presenting a high-contrast virtual image while allowing 40% light transmission from the environment.
Monoscopes & Binoculars
Virtual Binocular SX
The Virtual Binocular SX is a handheld, interactive, immersive display system that combines high-resolution microdisplays with adjustable, wide field-of-view optics in the familiar form of a pair of binoculars. The Virtual Binocular SX may be statically mounted or used with a choice of tracking schemes. The system can be adapted on a custom basis to simulate practically any binocular or monocular optical instrument.
Monoscope SX
The Monoscope SX is a versatile display concept intended for use as an embedded display to simulate a variety of real optical devices. It features a high-resolution 1280x1024 full colour microdisplay and an optional 40 degree field-of-view eyepiece.
Virtual Binocular SV (VBSV)
The Virtual Binocular SV (VBSV) hand-held display is designed for cost-sensitive, professional training and simulation applications. The VBSV features a remarkably bright 800x600 display with focus-adjustable eyepieces displaying a 40º FOV. Stereopsis is supported via two independent video inputs. The VBSV has a user accessible door that allows users to install and replace most popular motion trackers. Mounting hardware inside the VBSV supports the IC2/3 and IS-900 motion trackers from Intersense. The VBSV incorporates six programmable USB joystick compatible buttons, plus a z-axis scroll wheel, offering developers and users a wide array of interactivity within their applications. The VBSV was designed for applications with sensitive budgets requiring an easy-to-use, professional immersive display. Its intuitive interface lends itself well to applications ranging from simulated binoculars used in military trainers to virtual 3D microscopes for medical simulations.
Monoscope SV
The Monoscope SV is a low-cost display capable of simulating a variety of real optical devices in professional training and simulation applications. It features an 800x600 full colour microdisplay and an optional 40 degree field-of-view eyepiece.
