Planar’s SD monitor range uses several existing stereo modes in Windows, DirectX or OpenGL applications and with a number of commercially available graphics cards. Left eye/right eye information is presented to the correct monitor directly via a DVI interface with no user-supplied hardware or processing. Using the output from the appropriate graphics card, the Planar SD line of monitors includes all the hardware you need to view stereo.

Planar SD2421W and SD2620W Stereo/3D Monitors

Planar’s SD2421W and SD2620W produce wide-screen (1920 x 1200) 3D images and deliver comfortable, full resolution to both eyes for stunning stereo imaging. The SD2421W and SD2620W’s 16:10 wide-screen allow the monitor to be used simultaneously by multiple users.  Unlike other technologies, multiple users can be both sitting and standing and see the same quality image because there is no “sweet spot” anywhere on the screen. Not only is viewing easy for anyone in an ambient-light environment it’s also comfortable because of the flicker-free operation, which, unlike many CRT’s, allows extended stereo use. The Planar SD2421W is a colour accurate display, ideally suited for the 3D motion picture industry.

Clarity Matrix 3DClarity Matrix 3D LCD Video Wall System

Designed for those seeking a 3D visualisation environment comprising a large format, flicker-free stereoscopic display, the Clarity Matrix 3D boasts a shallow install depth of 3.6” or 93mm, an integrated mounting system, and off-board electronics and power supplies. The Clarity Matrix draws on LCD technology combined with a 3D optical system and passive glass that when tiled together, enables viewing of 3D images across the entire video wall. The Clarity Matrix 3D utilises micro-polarizing optics on the surface of the LCD to provide constant 3D visualisation to each eye. The left eye only sees every other horizontal row of pixels, the right eye sees the remaining rows of pixels and the brain combines each eye’s view to create a single high resolution image.  The Clarity Matrix 3D can also display conventional 2D images.
