Varity Perkins 1000 Engine
perkins engineTaking the new Varity-Perkins 1000 engine to the Best of British exhibition stand at the Hanover Trade Fair demanded a revolutionary form of presentation. Virtalis was approached to develop a VR representation of the engine and supply the necessary hardware and software to create a high-impact exhibit piece. Using CAD models of the engine, with exterior and interior details, VP remodelled the data into a form that would allow meaningful engineering animation and display of the engine in 3D. The final result enabled visitors to visit Varity-Perkins’ stand, don a set of branded, polarised stereo glasses and view the 1000 engine as if it were hovering in front of them. This proved to be such a successful concept that Perkins decided to take the experience, with all associated hardware, and feature the demonstration at all of their trade shows world-wide.
