Virtalis Selects Saudi Reseller for GeoVisionary
VIRTALIS, the company behind the groundbreaking GeoVisionary 3D landscape visualising tool, has selected MIS (Al-Moammar Information Systems) to be its reseller in Saudi Arabia.
A 100% Saudi
owned closed company, headquartered in Riyadh, MIS has 450 employees and is the Kingdom's pre-eminent total IT solutions provider. With over 1,000 clients in a diversified range of industry sectors, including the Saudi Government and a host of major enterprises, MIS operates Kingdom-wide.
GeoVisionary enables the stereoscopic 3D visualisation of terabytes of landscape height and photo data and its underlying geological data. It has real-time rendering power, allowing users to “fly” over terrain at thousands of miles per hour, whilst maintaining a constant 60 frames per second. GeoVisionary has been developed collaboratively over the last three years by Virtalis and British Geological Survey (BGS).
Moufid Charafeddine, GIS Division Manager at MIS explained: “We have been the exclusive distributors for ERSI in the Kingdom for two decades. Many of our projects involve turnkey projects, like creating GIS infrastructure for utilities, local Government, defence and security organisations. There is much more to these GIS enabled applications than just the delivery of pools of data. When we saw GeoVisionary at the end of last year, we recognised at once that the duality of 3D and an incredible processing speed that replicates the feeling of flying over the landscape
was a winning combination. Once our customers experience the power of GeoVisionary, we feel certain they will want to harness it to their data and GIS layer. We hope to work closely with the Virtalis R&D team to utilise the dynamic ESRI link already in GeoVisionary and to develop customised applications and Saudi-based training.”
