Hobby Turns into a Career |
WARREN Watmough couldn’t believe his luck when he read the advert for an installation and service engineer at Virtalis, Europe’s leading Virtual Reality company. “My hobby is installing audio and surround sound systems for friends and family, so the opportunity to install VR systems seemed too good to be true. Previously, my only exposure to 3D visualisation had been at Manchester’s IMAX cinema. It will be some leap from this to installing futuristic virtual touch, or haptics systems. I can’t wait to learn all about it.”
Warren joins Virtalis after 18 years as an installation and commissioning engineer at BT and describes himself as “hands on”. He joins a well established and burgeoning installations team at Virtalis and expects to be kept busy all over the country thanks to a full order book reflecting unprecedented demand for 3D stereoscopic projection technology. Warren lives in Leigh, Lancashire and is married with a son, 8 and daughter, 9. He enjoys cycling, including the annual Manchester to Blackpool charity ride.
