About the Virtalis Group

The Virtalis Group is recognised as one of the foremost interactive visualisation organisations in the world.  We can trace our heritage to the very beginning of Virtual Reality (VR) in the late 1980s.  The many and varied projects we have undertaken since then (see our market sectors and systems/services offerings pages) clearly demonstrate the power, flexibility and value for money of Virtual Reality and other advanced visualisation techniques.

In our illustrious history, we have played a part in some of the most exciting developments in VR.  We invented the world's first force feedback glove and created the first virtual supermarket for Sainsbury's.  We were among the first to harness VR techniques in the medical arena, inventing a VR trainer for surgeons.  Our work in the engineering and defence sectors accelerated the design of the Rolls-Royce

Trent engine, helped the development of PTC's DIVISION Reality software, removed the ammunitions bill for the Royal Navy's GMPG training and transformed helicopter crew training for the RAF.

Virtalis enjoys a commanding market position, underpinned by a distinguished track record for delivering quality human-system interface solutions to industrial, commercial, medical, cultural and educational sectors.  The Virtalis Group is building on its past successes.  In 2003, we launched StereoWorks, a unique, affordable and portable 3D stereoscopic projection system.  This has been followed by a wide range of product launches, including Helicopter Crew Reality, StereoServer, GigaCell VR, Haptic Cow, Haptic Horse and GeoVisionary.  In addition, we have recently announced a series of new partnerships and relationships with other market-leading, innovative companies.
