| Virtalis & InterSense Deliver IS900 Motion Tracking System for BAE Systems Typhoon Cockpit Rig |
|
Custom configuration optimises tracking performance, ensuring all system components are out of pilot sight
The high-resolution 9m dome Outside World (OSW) facility is located at BAE Systems Warton site. The IS-900 system is configured to ensure all components are out of the pilot's Field of Regard (FoR), in order to decrease the risk of negative impact on the realism of the simulated visual scene. Furthermore, the IS-900 system provides highly accurate tracking, with no noticeable jitter or latency, offering hand and object tracking for the most demanding 3D applications.
"Thanks to InterSense's advanced tracking system we were able to formulate the ideal solution to help us meet our customer's training objectives," said Andrew Connell, technical director, Virtalis. "We are proud to have been able to provide BAE with the exact configuration needed for their fixed-wing aircraft simulator."
