The automotive industry was one of the first to take up virtual reality. VR is particularly beneficial as a tool for design, allowing designers to identify and eliminate design errors and manufacturing issues at an earlier stage. It is also particularly beneficial from a financial perspective in terms of reducing or even eliminating the need to produce physical prototypes. We have observed users deriving particular benefit from the communication that is fostered both internally and with their customers and suppliers. One particular benefit to highlight is that the same VR model that assists the design process is also able to be taken up by the sales and marketing team and the training and maintaining departments. This allows organisations to extract the maximum possible value for money from an investment in such a system. | Advantages of VR |
