James Clarkson - Programmer & Implementer

James is a recent addition to the Virtalis Development team and, at 23, is also the youngest acquisition so far (born in the 80s, good grief!). Fresh out of Sheffield Hallam University where he studied Computing Visualisation to BSc (Hons) level, Virtalis is his first major break in the graphics industry. When he isn’t at work, he can usually be found either underwater somewhere as he is a keen trainee Divemaster, or practicing Taekwon-Do with the UKTA, as he is a 2nd degree (black belt) B class instructor.

He enjoyed a spell as a part time sound engineer at the Sheffield Hallam University Union and a local crewmember at Sheffield City Hall, working with many major artists (from Moby to Erasure). A self-confessed flight buff and helicopter fanatic, he is currently working with Haptics – bringing the sensation of touch to 3D virtual environments.
