Britain’s First, Large-Scale Roll Out of VR Technology

2008 has seen a nationwide programme of virtual environment radiotherapy training (“VERT”) equipment installed throughout England by Vertual and Virtalis, funded by the Department of Health.  This technology is now being made available to the rest of the world, with interest coming from around the globe.  The new systems, which are already revolutionising the way in which radiotherapists are trained, are the result of a collaboration between Vertual, who developed the VERT software, and Virtalis, who supply the integrated visualisation hardware.

Technology Fusion to Create Virtual Reality CFD - GigaCell VR

F18 CFD analysis by CFSCAMBRIDGE Flow Solutions (CFS) is a leader in the provision of proprietary software and services for Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).  It has now formed a partnership with Europe’s leading visualisation company, Virtalis, to develop a method of seeing CFD data in 3D stereo.  This technology will be known as GigaCell VR.

British Geological Survey Case Study
The british geological survey has had a virtalis stereo works visualisation system installed in order to appreciate its wealth of geological data in 3D.THE BRITISH Geological Survey (BGS) has had a Virtalis StereoWorks visualisation system installed at its Keyworth site in order to appreciate its wealth of geological data in 3D.  Ian Smith, programme manager for the Digital Geoscience Spatial Model (DGSM) explained: “Our investment in Virtual Reality (VR) is part of a strategic change from paper to digital volume models at BGS.  After all, geology is a 3D subject."
